Lock and Loaded
Have you ever been so excited about a part of your life that you can not wait to turn the corner to see what God has in store. Today was one of those days. I have been praying for God's divine direction in my ministry. For those who do not know me I am a senior pastor of a small rural church in Florida. This past several year I have been struggling to find my place in this world. God call me to pastor not just to preach. But He has put a great desire to advance the Kingdom of God in starting churches. Over that last several months I have had great opportunity to meet and dialogue with church planter from all walks of life with the common goal advancing the kingdom and disciple others. The fire is being stoked in my heart on how I can be apart of this. Reproducing churches in Orlando has allowed me to sit in their meeting and heard and have input on how I and my church can help. But it my vision to allow God to use me in anyway he see fit. Please pray for me as I seek God's direction.

Fallen Soldier

The air is normally filled with fog, clouds, and rain. But, today in Brandon, FL it is filled with questions about the sudden deaths of Rev. Forrest Pollock and his son Preston. Questions of Why God? Why them? They are so young. God he had a wife and five other kids? It is ok to ask our Heavenly Father these questions. God understands our questions and hurts. It is often normal to hear of a military soldier that loses his or her life protecting our freedoms. It hurt to hear that happens but in it understandable because he or she put their life on the line. A soldier of the Lord is a surprise. I know there are people out there that thinks that God does not care. We just have to trust God and understands that He know our every moves and path in life. But this needs to be an eye opener because this death show we know not our last days. So we need to be prepared and know that like Pastor Pollock and Preston that their last breath on earth will be a new breath before their Savior. We know where they resides now but our prayers and focus is the family left behind. May God give them the peace and comfort that only He may give. A soldier has fallen today in the Lord's army but he left a legacy behind that share their love of Jesus and you.

10. Samson! Get your hand out of that lion. You don't know where it's been! (Judges 14:5-8)
9. David! I told you not to play in the house with that sling! Go practice your harp. We pay good money for those lessons!
8. Abraham! Stop wandering around the countryside and get home for supper!
7. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego! I told you never to play with fire!
6. Cain! Get off your brother! You're going to kill him some day!
5. Noah! No, you can't keep them! I told you, don't bring home any more strays!
4. Gideon! Have you been hiding in that wine press again? Look at your clothes! (Judges 6:11)
3. James and John! No more burping contests at the dinner table, please. People are going to call you the sons of thunder! (Mark 3:17)
2. Judas! Have you been in my purse again?!
And the number one biblical saying of mothers is:
1. Jesus! Stop working on that old wood and come in and eat! You'd spend your life on that wood, if your father asked ya to!

God creating time

God is so creative. Today I was rushed to make a meeting in Fort Myers which is about 2 hrs away from my home. As I traveled the back roads to the meeting I was thinking about fires I have to put out in church. Oh, you didn't know that is in the job description of a pastor. This last week I felt like Paul in chapter nine of 1 Corinthians. So many hats it will drive you crazy and if you let it will get you off track spiritually . This is where I was at this morning. I normal do my quiet time in the morning. Today I was rushed the quiet-time was push to the side with my mindset and frustration of ministry. After the meeting which helped my spiritually. I was returning home when it dawn on me that I still have not done my quiet-time. At this point I state in my heart I wish I had time now to do it. But I'm driving and there is no way to do this without causing a pile-up on I-75. So I state I have to postponed it till later. Then all of a sudden the traffic came to a stop and crawled at 5 miles in hour. Stop and start, suddenly God quiet said to me you have some time now and I want to spend time with you. Often I would fuss because of the time wasted but not today it was quality time with my Heavenly Father. Awesome!!!!

Out of the mouth of babes
Yesterday I was in a associational leadership meeting when the instructor showed this video. My heart was moved that a little girl could recite this verse by memory. We as adults are to busy to hide the Word of God in our heart. I believe that we as a church need to have the heart of a child with the action of studying to show ourselves approved before God. We need to study and be before God daily by praying, studying His Word, and listening to His voice.

Coming to the end of a Journey
Time flies when you blink. My oldest is going to graduate from high school soon. Not to long ago he was only 2 lbs 13 ozs barely holding on to his little life. So small but full of life. The first five years he had 13 surgeries and very sick but he was a gift of God. Nineteen years later he going to his prom and winding down his twelve year quest of education. Life against him but God for him. With new quest before him with decision that changes his life. It almost time to leave the nest. Have I done everything right? Is he prepared for the fierce lion called adulthood. Prayers and direction is soon to be my role of a young man of God that has new paths to walk. God is his protector and my comforter.

Prayer Time

Today I had the honor to join in with our local high school in a national prayer time. The gathering was about 200 students that joined hands and prayed for about an hour. This moment was very special because it ministered to my heart that we have a generation that is still honoring God. Our news channels will not record this event because it honors our Biblicial foundations of our counrty. But my God was honored and glorify. Take some time today to say an extra special prayer for our government officials and the future of our freedoms. This freedom was given to us by the men and women who shed their blood so that we have the freedom to prayer in public. Today they fighting for others freedoms and protecting our freedoms. God bless you and America.
